Product Description
Our handmade dolls are fashioned after the indigenous Andean women of the highlands of Bolivia. Known as cholitas, these women of Aymara descent are easily recognized by their large layered skirts called polleras as well as by their dark braided hair. They also typically carry a large blanket tied around their chest which is used to carry everything from harvests to their babies. These blankets are called aguayos and, just like with our doll, are handwoven. Everything on our doll has a precise attention to detail, from the undergarments to the baby's handknitted cap to the adorable handpainted faces.
